Taylor’s mom, Andrea Swift, presented Taylor with the Milestone Award at the 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards over the weekend and they could not have picked a better person to do the honors other than mama Swift. Take a look: Taylor’s mom explained how writing songs, playing the guitar and the piano have always been Taylor’s favorite things to do and how she has watched those things carry Taylor through every emotion and experience in her life. Mama Swift also talked about watching her baby grow up from this tangled hair little girl full of creativity to now as she prepares for her next world tour. Can you imagine?? I wonder if at Taylor’s Swifts house her parents put up ticket stubs on the refrigerator instead of report cards. Her mom went on to explain how she QUOTE – “witnessed a young girl with very few friends become a young woman with many, learning to stand up for herself and the things she believes in, being brave enough to explore her musical curiosity and having a voice against those who hate and giving a voice to those in need and like many of you out there, I am a very proud mom.” And cue the water works. Listening to Taylor’s mom talk about how proud she is of her daughter and watching the exchange between the two of them was so touching especially given the recent tragic news about Taylor’s mom’s health. Taylor then took the stage with grace and made a point to thank the country music world for accepting her switch to pop music and supporting her along the way. She concluded her thank you speech by telling fans that she will see them soon in that very stadium in a few months on the 1989 world tour. Chills.
