Huaraches are one of the most underrated street foods in Mexico City. Everyone talks about tacos, but if you want something bigger, crispier, and made with fresh masa, you need to try a huarache. In this episode, I take you to some of my favorite huaracherías in CDMX, from the giant costilla de res huaraches outside Mercado Jamaica to choriqueso, cecina, and half-and-half combinations at neighborhood spots I go back to every time I’m in the city. These are everyday places where locals eat. Crispy edges, tender centers, beans tucked inside, salsa roja and salsa verde ladled on while the masa is still hot. This is real Mexico City street food.
