The David Copperfield Polkas are from the CD 'The Music of Dickens' released some years ago by the Seven Dials Band: 'http://www.allmusic.com/album/the-mus... Music from the London of Charles Dickens may seem a strange choice of music to go with a slideshow of images from the Irish seaside town of Bray County Wicklow. I first saw Bray in 1952 when my parents rented a holiday chalet in a field near Shankill, a village about two miles north of Bray on the road to Dublin. My late mother (1909 - 2003) used to walk down the road towards Bray and I fell in love with the place at once. It was full of attractions both free and for a price and I have not forgotten the amusements, the dodgems, (we called them 'bumpers'), the shops, the boats that could be hired, the railway station and the wonderful Bray Head that towered more than 800 feet above the beach. There was, too, the cheerful sound of music blaring out from the general area of the 'Amusements Park' which all added to a sense of enjoyment and freedom. The 'David Copperfield Polkas' sound just like the music I loved in those days...
