Scaling Up: NGEN’s Massive 30MWh Tesla Megapack in Kidričevo, Slovenia🔋

One year after the revolution began in Jesenice, NGEN doubled down on the future of energy. 🌍 In October 2020, we launched our second major industrial battery storage system in Kidričevo, marking a massive leap forward in capacity and technological sophistication. Located at the heart of Slovenia’s industrial zone in Kidričevo, this project was a regional milestone. It was the first to utilize the Tesla Megapack technology—a high-density storage solution designed to balance the grid on a whole new scale. With a capacity of 15 MW / 30 MWh, this facility doesn't just store power; it manages the pulse of the national electricity network. Talum, majority-owned by the public company ELES Ltd. (Electricity Transmission System Operator), was chosen as a location for the battery storage because the company has the required infrastructure and appropriate connections to the grid, and uses a lot of power.
