One day. One city. A rollercoaster of heat, humidity… and unexpected beauty. On the final day of my solo journey through China, I took a short 15-minute bullet train from Shenzhen to Hong Kong — a city I’d heard so much about, but wasn’t sure I’d connect with. What followed was one of the most intense yet surprisingly meaningful days of the entire trip. It was hot, humid, and crowded. I was soaked in sweat, dodging rain, and overwhelmed... at first. Slowly, Hong Kong started revealing its hidden charm — from the vibrant Wan Chai streets, to the calm of the Victoria Harbour promenade, to the quiet comfort of tea shops where I escaped the weather. I shopped, I wandered, I got lost in the city’s chaos — and by the end, I certainly fell for it. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s really like to visit Hong Kong in summer, or just love this city unconditionally — this one’s for you. 📍This marks the end of my China series — but just the beginning of something bigger. 👇 Let me know in the comments: Have you ever hated a place at first… and ended up loving it?
