Plane undergoing deicing at JFK airport 2. Various Plane taxiing on runway 3. Airport vehicles on runway 4. Plane on runway STORYLINE: Light snow is moving across the Northeast as cities dig out from a massive storm and deal with dangerous ice. At John F. Kennedy airport in New York, planes were undergoing deicing procedures as temperatures stayed stubbornly low on Wednesday. The National Weather Service says 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected Wednesday. Cities were scrambling to clear towering snow heaps that were not showing signs of melting anytime soon. New York City spread huge amounts of salt and hired emergency shovelers. Advocates say many sidewalks are impassable for people with disabilities. In Rhode Island, police say a university student died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a snow-covered car. One to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.6 centimeters) of snow was expected — a far cry from the last storm — but any snow that melted likely froze overnight, resulting in patchy black ice to make for some slippery roads, the National Weather Service said. =========================================================== Clients are reminded to adhere to all listed restrictions and to check the terms of their licence agreements.
