ConfirmaXL is an emerging EDA platform targeting RF, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design. It enhances and integrates third-party point tools through custom software and methodologies, delivering a cost-effective and streamlined workflow similar to commercial flows such as Cadence Virtuoso. ConfirmaXL builds on the widely adopted, high-quality KiCad PCB tool for schematic capture, significantly extending its capabilities to support IC-style hierarchical design, multi-bit buses, and parameterized symbols. Various spice simulators such as NGspice, Xyce, Qspice, Topspice, AFS may be plugged into the framework according to user preference. Users may also plug in layout tools such a Klayout, Lasi, Ledit and others. The system handles view switching and LPE simulation using LPE netlists from layout tools including Mentor Calibre. This particular video shows a simple example digital testbench containing cmos transitor level gates. The demo shows hierarchical navigation in Kicad, spice simulation, and interaction with chip layout programs Klayout and Lasi.
