The Lost Cities - Limmen National Park

"The Lost Cities" are situated in the Limmen National Park Northern Territory. Getting there is a journey in itself. A recommended route for the adventurous is via Mataranka along the Roper Highway to Roper Bar ( fuel up here) and then along the Nathan River Road to Tomato Island and then forging on to Butterfly Falls as a base. We used Lorella Springs Wilderness Park ( thermal springs) to visit the Southern Lost City but there is a small campground at the lost city (little shade and small sites). Then to finish off this section of the Savannah Way you drive from Lorella Springs ( be warned the roads are very corrugated in Lorella ) to Cape Crawford - a great place for a coldy! (449 km in total).
