Highly respected and popular throughout Scotland, the group members were soon sought after by other groups with recording contracts. Ian MacMillan joined Apple Records group Trash formerly known as The Pathfinders, whilst Hugh Nicholson was enticed by International recording group The Marmalade, Hugh went on to write 'Cousin Norman', 'Radancer' and 'Back On The Road' three of Marmalade's biggest hits. Dougie Henderson was soon recruited afterwards to join Hugh in The Marmalade. The Poets with new members then joined Marsha Hunt and named themselves Marsha Hunt's 22.
