These are pictures taken on my visit to the Sanfilippo Foundation's "Place de la Musique" Collection in Barrington Hills, IL. This is a huge collection of some of the finest mechanical music machines, arcade machines, a large Wurlitzer theatre organ as well as early antiques steam engines, train cars and even a functioning carousel that they let us ride whilst a fully functioning Gavioli pneumatic fair organ part of it was playing music. The collection is a bit like House on the Rock in Spring Green Wisconsin except for that all the music machines here are always kept working flawlessly. Usually, the only ways to get in to see the collection is via massive charity events, formal organ concerts or with pre organized tours groups of 40 or more people. I was however lucky to get in via a rarely offered "Advanced Guided Tour" which takes you into the theatre organ and shows you many of the antique music machines. I actually had to go as far as to skip class that day to even attend this! The guide demonstrated many of the music machines in the collection but couldn't demonstrate all due to just how massive the collection is and so little time to see it (referring to 3 hours). Unfortunately, guests weren't allowed to record video/audio per request of the estate ownership (because they want those to experience the collection in person via fundraising events, etc) but they did allow visual photography (and these are the pictures taken but don't even show half of the collection). The background music heard is "Allegro" as featured in music library of the Photos App and the composition is under the present copyright of Broma 16, UMPG Publishing. I felt baroque style music goes best with the more conservative feel to the estate. The copyright laws of the United States recognizes a "fair use" of copyrighted content and I intend this content to fall under that criteria. According to copyright.gov, "Fair use is a legal doctrine that promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances. Section 107 of the Copyright Act provides the statutory framework for determining whether something is a fair use and identifies certain types of uses—such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research—as examples of activities that may qualify as fair use."
