Air: Charmant vainqueur PERFORMERS William Skeen (Baroque Cello) plays principal cello in Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Musica Angelica, and the Bach Collegium of San Diego. In addition to performing with almost every baroque orchestra on the west coast, Mr. Skeen is a much sought-after chamber musician. He plays with the New Esterhazy Quartet, the Grammy-nominated ensemble, El Mundo, and La Monica. Recent performance highlights include solos with the Dallas Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic and tours to Colombia, Peru and Brazil with John Malkovich. His teaching duties include Adjunct Professor of Baroque Cello and Viola da Gamba at University of Southern California and Co-Director of the SFEMS Classical Workshop. William holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, working with Alan Harris, and a Master of Music degree from U.S.C., studying with Ronald Leonard. Yuko Tanaka (Harpsichord) is a soloist at the Carmel Bach Festival and performs with Music of the Spheres, Bertamo, Ensemble Montichiari, Musica Pacifica, Philharmonia Baroque, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and American Bach Soloists. She has appeared with the Berkeley Festival, Bloomington Early Music Festival, San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Ballet. Recent engagements include performances at the Frick Collection, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg and the Istanbul International Music Festival, as well as on National Public Radio and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Yuko received a doctorate in Early Music from Stanford. She has recorded with Koch International and Delos International. You can hear her online at magnatune.com. Juliana Urban (Soprano) received her degree in Music from the University of Oregon. While in Eugene, she sang with the Eugene Symphony Chorus, Eugene Opera Chorus, the University of Oregon Chamber Choir, and the early music ensemble, Vox Resonat. This past summer, Juliana attended, on scholarship, "The Compleat Singer", a Baroque vocal program through the Vancouver Early Music Festival. She sings with Marin Baroque and the San Francisco Symphony Chorus.
