A rare opportunity to ride this 1965 BMW R60/2 came up at Haywards of Cambridge. Not a bike they were selling but a bike that came in for recommissioning. Tim had recently bought it through Bonhams from a private museum/collection, The Anthony R. East Classic Motorcycle Collection. This BMW R60/2 was supplied to Slocombe's of Neasden and first registered on 30th December 1964. The machine was registered to its first owner, a Mr Dallen of Wood Green, North London on 8th January 1965. It was then bought by a Mr Minifie of Wednesbury, Staffordshire in 1968; registered by a dealer in 1970; and then sold to a Mr Davies of Brierley Hill in July 1971. Next owner Mr Billingham of Stourbridge purchased the BMW in May 1975. Tony East purchased the machine in 1994, the V5C recording the previous keeper as a Mr Toothill of Ruislip, who had acquired it in November 1989 (the old-style V5 records six former keepers prior to Mr Toothill.
