A Mother's Desperation Hariya, who fiercely desires a son, threatens his wife Vineeta with expulsion if she gives birth to another daughter, having already killed their previous two girls. When Vineeta delivers a daughter in Haria's absence, she hides the baby in a forest cave, fearing for the child's life. She visits the cave daily under the pretext of fetching firewood. 2. Adopted by gots One day, the hungry baby cries in the cave. A passing herd of goats, led by gori and Lali, discover the abandoned child. Filled with maternal compassion, they feed her their milk and decide to take her home with them to protect her from wild animals, believing her to be an orphan. As she grows, a predatory Wolf (Bhediya) spots her near the cave. The goats, anticipating the Wolf’s return, pretend to leave for grazing but hide inside the cave. When the Wolf breaks the door to attack the girl, the loyal goats ambush him, goring him severely with their horns and driving him away permanently. 4. A Royal Wedding The girl eventually grows into a beautiful young woman. A Prince (Rajkumar) wandering in the forest sees her and falls in love instantly. He returns to his palace, distraught. His father, the King, sends soldiers to bring the girl to the palace. She is initially afraid but is won over by the Queen's kindness. The Prince and the girl eventually marry. 5. Reunion and Happiness After her wedding, the Princess tearfully confesses to the Prince that she misses her many mothers (the cows). The Prince immediately takes her in a chariot back to the forest. The Princess reunites joyfully with Manjari and the other cows. Seeing their daughter happily married and well-settled, the cows give her their blessings, and the Princess lives happily ever after with the Prince.
