The Seville Commitment from the recent United Nations Finance for Development conference speaks to a growing need for governments to recognise the important role of philanthropy and adopt a whole-of-nation approach to funding for development. While not a substitute for government and development bank funding, philanthropy can boost collective investment and grow pipelines of country-led, sustainable initiatives. On Thursday 23 October AP4D hosted a webinar to explore the role of philanthropy in the contemporary international development context.
