*Not my property/not for-profit.* Gordo Records 731 - I bought this thinking that it was a white label or test pressing of Steve Verdugo's "My Lady"/"Hollywood." As it turns out, the version of "My Lady" on this pressing is an alternate take that was not included on any official release (of which there were two promo versions and one stock version). It features a brief conversational introduction amongst Verdugo and his bandmates, followed by a lead-in groove that transitions into the tune. This version of "My Lady" is more stripped down, less produced, and is driven by acoustic guitars, giving it a folkier sound that contrasts with the more brass-driven version released to the public. The strumming of the guitars in this version is also notably different from the stock version. This pressing features Rainbo Records pressing numbers R-4253 and R-4254, which would slightly predate the Rainbo Records pressing plates used for the stock releases. Steve Verdugo was a member of the late 60s-early 70s Eastside LA group Old Tyme Religion, who had a country/folk/psych sound. They released two 45s. As a solo artist, Verdugo also released two known 45s. *This is a direct vinyl transfer, straight from the platter to the line-in on my Tascam digital recorder, saved as a 24-bit .WAV file, and synced to the video.* Always #ortofon
