Tinsel Talk: The Bible Exclusive interview with Diogo Morgado. I interviewed Jesus, well not really, but Diogo Morgado who plays Jesus in The Bible Miniseries that airs on The History Channel this month, I asked him about the difficulty of playing the role and what does it mean for the rest of his acting career. From Genesis to Revelation, HISTORY will illuminate the Bible, re-telling the stories as they unfold and revealing new insights into these iconic characters in context of the Bible. The series will feature some of the most famous stories ever written from Noah's Ark and the Exodus to Daniel in the Lion's Den to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. "The Bible is a sacred text that continues to challenge and inspire," said Mark Burnett. "We've been working on this project for the past two years and are deeply humbled to be given this once in a generation opportunity to breathe new visual life into the Bible's profound stories. The Bible gives meaning and purpose to billions of people around the world, and sparks the curiosity of millions more." In April, The Bible series will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD with hours of exclusive special features and extras making it a must-own for every home. Three companion books -- a novelization of the scripts, a young readers version of the novel and a devotional of inspirational thoughts from Downey and Burnett paired with Scriptures and images from the film will be released Feb. 26. "The Bible" executive producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey say the notion that the devil in the miniseries is supposed to resemble President Obama is "utter nonsense." The miniseries set Twitter aflame Sunday night because the actor playing the devil looks the way the president might in several years. Obama's critics jested about the resemblance, while his supporters wondered if the casting was intended as propaganda. "This is utter nonsense," Burnett and Downey said in a statement Monday. "The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor.
