RAF Coastal Command never received the credit it was due in World War Two. The first person to win a Victoria Cross from their ranks was a Kiwi: Lloyd Trigg. Trigg was also the first VC recipient to earn the award based solely on the testimony of the enemy i.e. survivors of the German U-Boat he and the crew of his aircraft sank. This is a great story of bravery on both sides of the conflict.
