EQUIPMENT Door mounted exterior mirror, adjustable headlights, chrome bumpers, three position lighting stalk, self-cancelling directional indicators, anti-theft steering lock, voltmeter, warning lights, two-speed windscreen wipers, two-speed booster fan, heated rear window, hazard warning lights, glovebox, ashtray, day/night driving mirror, padded sun visors with passenger vanity mirror, reclining front seats, childproof rear door locks, folding rear seats, rear parcel shelf. EXTERIOR This charming Renault 6TL is finished in Bleu Metal, (Code 407), and looks fabulous. A vibrant bright colour which suits the character perfectly. The ultra-thin original metal panels have survived perfectly with no dents or dings. Amazingly there is no corrosion, rust or weld repairs. Minor touch ups are visible on close inspection and older paintwork reveals a slight shade difference. The chrome bumpers have a mirror finish and the TL trim is unmarked. A truly remarkable and very rare survivor. INTERIOR The interior of this Renault 6 is amazing. Everything is just perfect from the clean lines of the plastic faux aluminium facia with its neat, east to read instrument panel, to the flick switch controls and rocker switches. The soft padded reclining seats are covered in original brown vinyl and along with the matching door cards are unmarked. The spotless brown flooring still has the entire factory fit undelay and the rubber boot mat is unmarked. A clean under bonnet completes the package which still includes the jack and wheel brace. Tremendous in every respect. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The four cylinder 1108cc engine with a light alloy cylinder head is fuelled through a Solex manual choke carburettor and produces 47bhp. Incredible reliability with a sealed cooling system and simple mechanics makes perfect city ambling and surprisingly comfortable touring while still returning 35-40mpg (Source Renault 6 brochure). The dashboard mounted four-speed all synchromesh transmission with a single dry clutch plate and diaphragm spring becomes second nature and operates smoothly in the conventional 'H' pattern. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Correct and immaculate painted steel wheels with bright chrome hub-caps support new Nexen SB-808 tyres of 145/80 R13 size. The spare, as with the rest of the underside is clean and rust free. Hydraulic drums on all wheels with a pressure limiting valve in the rear brake line offer adequate stopping power. HISTORY FILE Supplied new by the Valmar Motor Company Ltd, Renault Main Agents in Evesham on the 16th January 1975. When the long term custodian decided to part with this car it was offered to the Renault Classic Car Club and with them it has remained enjoying a pampered, respected and well maintained life with all four former enthusiast keepers.
