West Bengal Govt To Make Bengali Mandatory As 2nd Language In English Medium Schools | Top News

Top News |  The West Bengal cabinet accepted a proposal on Monday to make Bengali essential as a second language in private English medium schools. The cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, also approved the formation of an Education Commission to investigate concerns against private schools, he added. He stated that the Education Commission will be structured similarly to the Health Commission, with a retired judge serving as its chairman. 'We had multiple complaints during the epidemic about private schools raising tuition costs unnecessarily. There were also issues about the syllabus and how the tests were administered.
