Michael Jackson's "Second Family" Wants $200 Million — But They Defended Him for 25 Years

The Cascio family just filed a two hundred million dollar lawsuit against Michael Jackson's estate, accusing the late singer of child trafficking. But for twenty-five years, these same siblings were Jackson's most vocal defenders. Frank Cascio wrote a book in 2011 called "My Friend Michael" declaring Jackson's love for children was innocent. The family appeared on Oprah in 2010 saying Jackson was never inappropriate. They attacked other accusers. They called themselves his "second family." Now they claim Jackson abused all of them beginning when some were as young as seven years old. The Jackson estate calls this extortion. They point out the Cascios already received a settlement reportedly worth over three million dollars after "Leaving Neverland" aired in 2019—then allegedly came back demanding two hundred thirteen million more. The Cascios say they were coerced into that settlement while still processing their trauma. They claim watching Wade Robson and James Safechuck in "Leaving Neverland" finally made them talk to each other and discover they had all been abused. There's also the fake tracks scandal. Brother Eddie sold songs to Jackson's estate that the Jackson family says weren't even Michael's voice. Sony removed them in 2022. Their attorney? Mark Geragos—who defended Jackson in 2003 and called "Leaving Neverland" an "absolute travesty" as recently as 2021. Now he's arguing Jackson was guilty. Michael Jackson was acquitted in 2005 and denied all allegations. His estate continues to deny them. A hearing is set for March 5th.
