Delhi NCR Under Water: Rain Fury & Floods Cripple The Capital | India Today

The National Capital Region is reeling from intense monsoon rains, leading to widespread waterlogging and severe traffic disruptions. The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for Delhi NCR, including Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad. The situation worsened after the gates of the Hathini Kun Barrage in Haryana were opened, causing a flood-like situation in the capital. Low-lying areas such as Majnu Katila are completely flooded, forcing residents to evacuate. Many are taking refuge on rooftops, facing shortages of food and adequate shelter. One resident stated, “Pata nahi tha kya itna jyaada AA jaayega pani” (We didn't know the water would rise this much). Residents report that while tents have been set up, they are overcrowded.
