Everyone knows to dial 911 for emergencies, but what is you just need help or information. There is a 3 digit number you can call for that...211. 2-1-1 is a United Way agency and has been available in the Black Hills since 2006. They've responded to over 8,000 phone calls over the last two year in the Black Hills community, but are still looking to spread the word, and so over the next few weeks you may see the 2-1-1 magnets on select Rapid City Police cars. It's a simple premises, but one that could easy reach out to more people across the Black Hills Community. RCPD want to helps as many people as possible, but sometimes, 2-1-1 can be the way to go in a non-emergency.
