In this video, I will be talking about the book “Bride” by Ali Hazelwood. I have a very rocky relationship with Ali Hazelwood’s work, and would consider myself a reluctant fan. Typically, I read the books, and am frustrated at how formulaic they are and then complain about the books. Recently, I have just accepted that these books follow a formula, and have enjoyed them more. This book is quite different, as it is a werewolf/ vampire mafia style romance. Misery Lark has lived her life in the human world as the Collateral, meant to keep peace between vampires and humans. She is to be married to the new Werewolf Alpha, Lowe Moreland. Misery agrees to the marriage so that she can investigate the disappearance of her best friend Serena. The only clue left behind are a set of initials, the same initials as her new husband. This book gave huge mafia vibes, which I absolutely loved. This had the romance elements that I love in Ali Hazelwood’s books with more of a fantasy setting that I also enjoyed.
