Doctors Not Understanding Chronic Illnesses I don't think doctors understand what it is like to live with a chronic illness and that sometimes it's the little things that make a huge difference. I need to hear from one more doctor to officially schedule my surgery. I was told on Monday that he would call within the next couple of days, which is now Friday. I never got that call. To him it means nothing, but to me it means everything. I have been living in a ton of pain and I want to know if surgery is scheduled so I can know relief is on the horizon. I don't understand how over a week, he could not find five minutes to call me and let me know what was going on. A simple phone call would have made my day. I would have gotten answers and now I go into the weekend wondering what is going on.
