A video guide for diagnosing and cleaning a stuck filling valve on Dispensette® S Bottletop Dispensers from BRANDTECH Scientific, Inc. For more information on Dispensette® S Bottletop Dispensers, please visit https://shop.brandtech.com/en/liquid-... This video demonstrates how to diagnose and clean a stuck filling valve for all models of the Dispensette S family of bottletop dispensers. It is intended as a general guide, and is not a substitute for the Operating Manual. Before working with a Dispensette S, wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, and observe all safety precautions. If the filling valve of a Dispensette S instrument is stuck in the closed position, it will be difficult to lift the piston, and it will spring back to its original position. First unscrew the Dispensette S from the bottle. Remove the filling tube, allowing it to drain back into the bottle. If a recirculation tube is present, that should be removed as well. Use the black calibrating and valve mounting tool, provided with all Dispensette S models, to loosen the filling valve, then complete the process with your fingers. Next, use a towelette to absorb any residual liquid. Then wrap the filling valve and shake it gently. You should be able to hear and feel the ball valve rattle slightly inside the valve housing. If the ball valve does not move, use a small pipette tip to dislodge it from the valve seat. If you do not have a pipette tip, take care not to use anything that can scratch the ball valve. To ensure the valve is clean, soak or rinse it in an appropriate cleaning agent. To reinstall the filling valve, start threading it into the valve block by hand. Then complete the job using the black calibrating and valve mounting tool. Use only the thumb and forefinger to tighten the valve. Excess force can strip the threads. Once the valve is mounted, install the filling tube and the recirculation tube, if present. Then mount the instrument on a bottle and prime for use.
