Exploring Victoria Park Stadium Site | Brisbane Walking Tour 4K HDR

Hi everyone, my name is Brett 👋 Thank you so much for always watching and joining me on my walks! In today's video, I check out Brisbane's beloved Victoria Park (a.k.a. Barrambin in the Turrbal language), the site of the newly-announced Olympic stadium. Brisbane is in need of a new stadium, in time for the 2032 Summer Olympic Games, and after much debate and controversy, Victoria Park is the final decided location. I don't know how much longer we'll be able to enjoy this vast, luscious green parkland in its current state, so us Brisbanites have to make the most of it while we still can! It's a beautiful green space that I think we'll all miss. But the options for new stadium locations were very limited. This place has an incredible history. From a special gathering place for Aboriginal peoples to a golf course, and more recently an amazing parkland, in the near future it'll be home to the biggest sporting event in the world!
