We all know about Gear Lust (GAS) but I wasn't aware about this condition called 'patch deprivation'. People who own a small modular travel case may never feel it. I went to Ibiza for two weeks and I already felt it even before departure. Please leave a comment if you felt it to, and what did you bring on your holiday to keep the voltage flowing? I picked the Teenage Engineering KO II because it's great to practice simple arrangements that also work on a modular. Like Ibiza lounge music. I also took my Plinky which turned out to be a wonderful travel synth. VCV Rack has been a 'holiday saver' for me but it turned out I didn't have any hardware to run it (properly). So I decided to get a new laptop and dedicate it completely to VCV. Since I am privileged to use hardware, I never cared about VCV too much, but it's just excellent. I also wanted to learn some more about it because of the new 4MS Meta module. I think, in the end, it will save a lot of real gear and it will be great for generative patches and FX. In a way, this is a holiday video with no modulars, and how weak people like me can deal with it. It took me a week to get used to doing 'nothing' and to enjoy it. I composed, improvised, recorded and edited all material during the holiday with my KO II, Plinky, VCV, smartphone and labtop, similar to how I recorded my first channel videos. Some material is edited for the sake of entertainment. There are no pirate treasures on Ibiza. But the island itself, is one big treasure chest.
