Big Banana Productions: The Best of 2019

2019 was a legendary year for the railfan community. From the unveiling of commemorative units in honor of first responders and armed forces by both CSX and CP, to the Norfolk & Western Steam Reunion on the Strasburg Railroad, and to the long-awaited and highly anticipated return of a Big Boy to steam on the Union Pacific, this year saw many iconic moments across the country as the spirit of American railroading is alive and well in the 21st Century. For myself, 2019 was quite a ride! Having done more trips this year than any other, this was without a doubt my busiest year and I cherished every split second of it. I met many new people and made several new friends that join me on these trips, adding to the pure fun and excitement that each one brings along with the livelihood of pursuing our passions together as friends and as brothers. We covered a lot of ground in 2019 throughout four states, including all across Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Western New Jersey and the Connecticut River Valley. We captured everything from ALCOs to trolleys, RDCs to Heritage Units and of course 10 different steam locomotives in a variety of pristine landscapes and settings. Although there were some bumps in the road, this year was a spectacular one for both my friends and myself and the hundreds of memories made will long be remembered for years to come. As for 2020, we will continue making memories as our eyes look toward the horizon, in anticipation for what lies ahead....
