This is a vertical slice for a Fate of Atlantis movie using the latest video technologies on multiple fronts, while building a production pipeline that's able to iterate on the film throughout time and rapid technical innovation. At this point, it's clear to me the practical workflow relies on keyframes which are the link between still compositions and cinema. Image composition is the foundation stone and each frame should be thought of as a painting. What we're lacking at the moment is an efficient way to generate subframes of a given keyframe to accelerate the production and break through the 5 / 10 minutes mark. Recent progress with Runway references are a push towards that direction. Unfortunately it still requires a lot of fiddling to get it right, once we get fast subframes production from a keyframe reference we should be able to generate a long length format that's coming close to cinema. Then it will be about practical talent and storytelling (which is far from trivial). Surprisingly it's been very much of a technical journey because I'm using the bash and command line to iterate through different API(s), upscaling and rendering while dodging slower UI(s). Agility is crucial, otherwise the whole production takes too long. If someone is interested I'm considering communicating about my pipeline so that other people would benefit from it and potentially reinforce it by making suggestions.
