It's time to realize an ambitious project that has been years in my head, revisit some of the best components of the PC history and push it to their limit, I will use everything possible, custom bios, volt modification and extreme cooling with liquid nitrogen. I wanted to start this Retro Hardware Overclock Project with the Socket A, more than 15 years ago I had a lot of fun with those components and It 's still one of my favorite platforms to overclock. The goals: run for the 1st place in the following benchmarks: Socket A (K7) CPU Frequency PiFast SuperPi 1M SuperPi 32M Aquamark 3DMark05 To see the CPU overclocking records you can access here: http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/a... Then click "Rankings" and within that page expand the selection under "Family" to K7 to see all the Socket results. HD 3850 AGP http://hwbot.org/hardware/videocard/r... I know that it's really hard to beat most of that scores, the current 1st place holders are great overclockers, but I will try anyway :) This is only the beginning, I have incoming as well P45 chipset motherboards and once reached the limit of the components I will move forward the years to the present day components. If you have a K7 or an AGP system and you want to have some fun just upload your best result in HWbot and post a comment here, in the following videos or in Twitter with the hashtag #2001HardwareOdyssey I will keep track of the scores and report it in the next videos! Every cooling category is fine, from air to LN2. If you wants to contribuite with tips and tricks or best practices with certain components you are more than welcome! If you want to know every detail and updates on the project follow me on patron: / hardware_numb3rs Have fun! Max
