Sky News host Caroline Di Russo says there are a lot of people who still earn $70,000 a year or less who can not find somewhere reasonable to live. Ms Di Russo sat down with Sky News host Chris Kenny and GT Communications’ Gemma Tognini to discuss the cost-of-living crisis and how it is creating a class of working-poor. “You end up with this class, essentially, of working poor and we’ve seen it here in WA, we’re the rough-sleeping capital of Australia where you’ve got people who actually have jobs but who are homeless,” Ms Di Russo told Sky News host Chris Kenny. She remarked the estimation of $140,000 a year minimum to afford living in a home is making it difficult to rent or buy a place. “If you’re waiting tables, you are not earning $140,000 a year but guess what, we need people to wait tables, we need people to work in shops, and those people need to be able to be within a reasonable distance to be able to commute to work.”
