Living in Downtown Carmel Indiana... What's It Like? Downtown Carmel or Midtown Carmel... either place is really unique. It's certainl not like downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. But, Carmel isn't exactly trying to match Indianapolis. Living in this particular area offers a tremendous amount of walkability, bikability, and a dense but cozy feel to most of the surrounding streets. The Arts and Design District is what most people here know the downtown Carmel area as and it isn't short on places to go or things to do. There are plenty of restuarants, shops, and places to hang out for just about everyone in the family. In addition, the Monon Trail makes its way straight through the area too. If living in this area is something you're interested in there are many different options. From townhomes and condos to single family homes. Some homes are incredibly new while others are older. Living in downtown Carmel Indiana could be a fit for you if you like the unique feel.
