Oliver Edwards ‪@LearnFlyFishing‬ shows how to fish the powerful swirling waters of a hatch pool with his tungsten weighted version of his Flytyers Masterclass freshwater shrimp pattern. In these powerful currents, it would not have the time on a drift to get down to the fish - You need a tungsten weighed fly pattern. In other videos on the channel Oliver shows how to tie this pattern with a tungsten weight so that the tungsten is well hidden, resulting in a realistic looking pattern. He also shows how to search fish through the ranunculus beds with the Flytyers Materclass version of this pattern. In these more languid waters, the tungsten version would drop too quickly through the slower water, getting caught on the bottom.
