Sprouted wheat is such a wonderful ingredient because you can use it to make a variety of delicious foods. In this video I discuss using sprouted wheat to make: rejuvelac (a fermented, health promoting drink), sprouted wheat & raisin cookies / energy balls / energy bites, and a vegan cheese sauce made with rejuvelac (fermented sprouted wheat drink). #fermentedfood #fermentedfoods #livefood #rejuvenation #sprouting #sproutingseeds #sproutrecipe #sprouts #sproutsrecipes #sproutsrecipe #sprout #wheatrecipes #wheatrecipe Recipe: Sprouted wheat cookies: 2 cups sprouted wheat (sprouts should be 1/2” long) 1/3 - 1/2 cup raisins Pinch salt 1/2 - 1 tsp vanilla (optional) Other spices or flavourings as desired Additional sweetener as desired Grind all together in masticating grinder or food processor. Form into balls. Freeze to store. Rejuvelac: 1/2 cup sprouted wheat 1 quart / 1 liter / 4 cups water Whiz all together in blender until sprouts are broken up some. Put all in quart jar. Cover with cloth and rubber band to keep out flies and other debris. Let sit at room temperature for 48 hours. Pour off liquid (reserving wheat in the jar) and drink, or store in fridge. Fill jar with water again, cover as before, let ferment at room temperature for 24 hours. Pour off liquid (reserving wheat in the jar) and drink, or store in fridge. Fill jar with water again, cover as before, let ferment at room temperature for 24 hours. Pour off water to drink or store in fridge. Discard wheat. You’re done. Vegan cheese sauce with rejuvelac: 1 cup cooked potatoes Salt as desired Pepper as desired 1/4 cup chopped red pepper (1 Tbsp dried) 1/2 tsp garlic 2 Tbsp onion 1 Tbsp hemp seed or sunflower seeds 1 Tbsp tahini sesame paste 4 Tbsp / 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 2 - 2 1/2 cups rejuvelac (fermented sprouted wheat water) (or as much as desired to make the preferred sauce thickness) Blend smooth in blender. Store in fridge. It only lasts a couple days because it will keep fermenting in the fridge. So only make enough to eat in 2 days.
