Thank you! Thirty-seven years ago I entered the instrument-making field full time, and in 1995 I established this Atelier and Showroom. Right from the start, the ambition was to create a workshop inclusive of musicians and craftspeople of All levels, genres, and incomes. It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 30 years. It still feels so fresh and new to me, and I really have to pinch myself when I look back on the achievements and the journey so far. I began with just a briefcase of tools, one workbench, and objects foraged from trash-and-treasure sales and hard rubbish — working on a table in the lounge room. I’ve always wanted to build a collaborative creative environment where we learn from one another, where everyone has genuine creative input and we share the workload, pushing ourselves beyond the highest possible world-class standards of quality and innovation. At times. I feel more like a Composer or Conductor of an orchestra, with this team as my trusted ensemble. Makers, repairers and support staff have come from: New Zealand, Switzerland, Hungary, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Belgium, England, the USA, South Africa, Zimbabwe, France, Spain — and of course, heaps of homegrown, dedicated, and exceptionally talented Aussies. Most have stayed in regular contact and continue to offer generosity, encouragement, and lasting friendship. Thank you also to my suppliers and all my fellow makers here in Australia for their ongoing friendship and support. My sincere gratitude to you all. We look forward to continuing to serve and enrich this community for the next 30 years — and beyond.
