Union Pacific Southbound Manifest Rolls on Their Former C&EI Across CN’s Former EJ&E

UP 8548, an SD70ACe leads this southbound, whose symbol I never heard, across the former Elgin Joliet & Eastern, now CN’s Matteson Subdivision in Chicago Heights, IL. On the UP and predecessors MoPac and C&EI this crossing was called Jay and tower here was called Jay Tower. On the EJ&E side this crossing and tower were known as Chicago Heights. The tower here closed in early 1994. It stood for quite awhile not getting torn down until the 2010’s. A rather short one, this train only has 50 cars.
