Class IV composite restoration with G-ænial A’CHORD - www.gaenialachord.com - simple and fast In this video Dr. Asparuhov from Bulgaria shows a clear and fast step by step procedure for a class IV composite restoration using GC materials. He starts with placing a rubber dam and a Teflon tape to achieve proper isolation. Then he proceeds with selective etching and applies the universal bonding agent G-Premio BOND. Following manufacturer’s instructions, he blows hard and light cures for 10 seconds. Then he builds the palatal wall using a silicone key and G-ænial A’CHORD in shade JE. After building the shell, he places a sectional matrix and a wedge and he proceeds to build the proximal wall. Once light cured, he removes them and continues with adding the second layer using the A02 as a dentin replacement shade. With a probe he models the composite to create the effect of embrasures. He then places A2 as the main body shade and shapes it with a brush and a probe similarly to before. Finally, he places the last layer of JE on top and spreads it evenly throughout the area, making sure the margins are inconspicuous. Before proceeding with polishing, he uses glycerin gel and light cures. This helps diminish the inhibition layer. The final adjustments are done with a contouring disk in coarse. Then he creates some secondary anatomy and incisal edge detailing with yellow band burs. The polishing protocol he follows involves a medium grit disk for pre-polishing, a fine grit disk for polishing and a final disk for high gloss polishing. G-ænial A’CHORD is easy to handle with an instrument or a brush because of its non-sticky consistency.
