Our Teens and Young People volunteer team are a specialist befriending group connecting 16–25 year-olds with patients of the same age when they are on hospital wards. This is to offer some light relief to the patient and allow for them to connect as peers. Our young volunteers will come to the patient’s bedside to have a chat and provide some company to the patient. We also have single use items from our trolley of goods that can be given to a young patient to keep and take home. These include puzzle books, arts and crafts, games, sensory items, reading books and so on. We have a brilliant, active and highly valued team of over 500 volunteers who give their time to make a difference to patients and staff every day.
