Indian Economic Updates : Budget Proposes ₹2,250-Crore Export Promotion Mission for MSMEs, Launches BharatTradeNet Under India Stack to Digitise Trade, Cut Costs and Integrate India into Global Supply Chains The budget proposes a ₹2,250-crore Export Promotion Mission to support MSMEs, improve access to export credit, and address non-tariff barriers in overseas markets. The initiative will be jointly implemented by the ministries of commerce, MSME, and finance. It also announces the launch of BharatTradeNet, a digital public infrastructure platform under India Stack, aimed at streamlining trade documentation and financing by integrating customs, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, the Goods and Services Tax Network, banks, and exporters. By reducing paper-based processes, the platform is expected to lower trade costs. Positioned as the fourth engine of development, BharatTradeNet will align with global best practices and complement the Unified Logistics Interface Platform.
