In this video, Dr. Dimitros Lignos focuses on demonstrating the specifics of recently developed uniaxial and multiaxial constitutive material model formulations for simulating the inelastic behavior of structural steel members and subassemblies under cyclic loading. The proposed constitutive material models have already been implemented in OpenSees. Demonstration examples include the inelastic seismic response of steel beam-columns as well as beam-to-column panel zones. A systematic calibration procedure will also be presented based on robust optimization approaches for consistent input material model identification; including a material library for nine structural steels worldwide that could be effectively used in frame and continuum finite element simulations.
