Hello Youtube 🙋🏽 Items I used below vvvvvv ---- I wanted to share a “Weave With Me” video since so many have asked what on earth I’m doing. This is a longer and child video. I know I like to craft and relax to others’ crafting videos, so I tried to emulate that here. Please forgive any odd camera work as I’m trying to figure out how to film in a tiny space with an overhead camera arm! Also, when this video starts, know that there are already about 2 hours put into his work from the warping and setup of the loom to the sleying of the reed and initial tensioning of the warp. This was about 7 hours of a project that I cut down to 23 minutes Now - I am no weaving teacher, and this is just sampling and testing technique for a potential future offering, but it does show a lot of the basic workings of Rigid Heddle Weaving. I have some videos coming out next week and the week after with some more basic weaving, and that will actually be sold on my Etsy when I do launch. Sorry if I sound quiet here as well - I am fairly soft-spoken and don’t have a great mic. I’ll try to bump up the quality next time around🙇🏾 --------------------- Tools used: Ashford 24 inch Rigid Heddle Loom (any loom over 12 18 inches is so flexible in what you can create) 7.5 dent reed (comparable to 8 dent) 2x 20-inch shuttles Striped “5 Bulky” weight yarn in sister tones Castile soap with Lavender Chibi bent tapestry needles SHARP scissors. ------------ Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:38 Tension Adjustment 1:00 Spreading the warp 3:06 Ready to start weaving 4:25 Origin of this project idea 5:32 Hemstitching on loom 6:41 Really gearing into the project 7:20 discussing my PPI and bulky yarn 7:50 Shuttle Management 11:09 How I got into weaving 14:25 Yarn play 15:10 More weaving 16:05 Reaching the end of the warp 17:40 Hemstitching the other end 19:01 Fabric just off tension 19:43 Wet finishing and fulling 21:25 Finished complete cloth 22:26 outdo and warping for the next project For more weaving find me at / add.marjoram For my planners find me at / add.basil ------------------- Nails are tortoiseshell using a mix of British and Japanese gels, and some variegated copper/gold foil.
