Early evening walk down to North Point for dinner. Hong Kong's harbourfront is always such an amazing sight. I thought if Tim Ho Wan was busy I'd head off down to Harbour North for eggs again but there were only 3-4 other tables there on a Tuesday. Maybe it's more popular outside of Hong Kong where there are fewer good choices for dimsum... Date of recording: 2021-05-18 started around 18:00HKT The route: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Noond... 00:00 Exit pedestrian tunnel to Noonday Gun. 01:08 Walk east along the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter promenade. 08:56 This little corner of the shelter has a big banyan tree and an tiny beach that's often crowded with birds in the mornings, mainly herons. 10:19 The big banyan tree. 15:30 To the left here is Watson Road, the one block industrial part of Tin Hau subdistrict. 15:58 To the right across the street is an old Ngo Wong Temple(岳王古廟), a temple dedicated to General Yue Fei. 19:04 Left here is a heritage building now called Oil Street Art Space, straight up past Five Guys down the road is Fortress Hill MTR station and you can make out the Fortress Hill stairs of doom. 20:40 This big building here is the Electric Road Municipal Services Building, a big wet market on the first two floors, a public library up higher, but 2nd floor's cooked food area has one of the best Indian restaurants on Hong Kong Island called Clay Pot Indian Restaurant (烤爐印度餐廳).
