JOIN BROADCAST PLAZA TODAY, DISCORD'S LARGEST MEDIA DISCUSSION COMMUNITY — http://bit.ly/S31MA Open from the 11pm newscast on Scripps' ABC affiliate in Indianapolis, Indiana, recorded on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. On October 1st, WRTV rolled out a new open style, which is the same being used at many smaller market Scripps station that have fully implemented Scrippscasts, which are modular newscasts produced using the Softron system. They are basically newscasts played out from a playlist and are mostly recorded, but do feature some live elements such as weather. This open style is starting to make it to some bigger market Scripps stations now as well. It is unknown why, since Scripps is also rolling out an entirely new graphics and music package as well. For now, that package has only debuted at WFTS, WEWS, and WXYZ, while the rest for now continue to use the old graphics package developed by Scripps internally, and a custom theme package from Stephen Arnold Music.
