Original Score by David Benoit Original Broadcast August 29. 2003 "I think our team is in trouble this year, Charlie Brown.We're weak at every position." _________________________________ SYNOPSIS Angst-ridden Charlie Brown attempts to motivate his team, while Lucy in right field nettles poor Chuck into a nervous wreck. With their losses mounting, Charlie Brown tries every remedy to score a win–even trading his own dog–yet nothing improves the team’s dismal record. Then Chuck orchestrates “the greatest trade in the history of baseball.” _________________________________ THE SOUNDTRACK David Benoit performs the soundtrack for this baseball themed soundtrack, repeating some classic Guaraldi tunes such as "Baseball Theme", "Peppermint Patty", and "Oh Good Grief". Benoit, the successor of Vince Guaraldi does a great job duplicating Vince's style in these songs. In addition to the Baseball tunes, Benoit gives us seven versions of "Lucy Must Be Traded (Memories)", climaxing with "Lucy Must Be Traded7 (Memories), Rain". Listening to this version you may notice a striking simularity to Guaraldi's "Rain, Rain Go Away", culminating with (what else) a rain storm. I had to resort to using a "Vocal Remover" to eliminate the vocals. Maintaing true stereo, the removal process left some artifacts (squeeks) and background noises behind. It's not perfect but I'm hoping one day they will release a BluRay in 5.1 .
