Two sources have confirmed to CBC News and Radio-Canada that Prime Minister Mark Carney will ask the Governor General to dissolve Parliament on March 23 and call an election expected to take place on either April 28 or May 5. Correction (March 20, 2025): A previous description on this story incorrectly stated that sources said the prime minister will dissolve Parliament on Sunday.
