During our visit, boating at Nal Sarovar was closed by the Gujarat Government, so instead of exploring the lake by boat, we experienced the sanctuary the old-school way—birding on foot. Walking through the vast shallow grass and wetlands gave us a unique chance to observe birds closely in their natural setting. From flocks of waterfowl and waders to raptors soaring overhead, Nal Sarovar was alive with avian activity. The dry mudflats, grass patches, and receding water created perfect conditions for spotting both resident and migratory species. Birding on foot also allowed us to understand the habitat better—the silence, the open landscape, and the subtle movements of birds feeding and resting. Even without boating, Nal Sarovar proved why it is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers. If you love wetlands, migratory birds, and raw field-level birding experiences, this visit to Nal Sarovar will surely inspire you. 📍 Location: Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, Gujarat 📅 Best season: Winter (November–February) 👣 Activity: Birding on foot (boating closed) 🔔 Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more birding and wildlife content!
