Autoimmune ILD

Autoimmune conditions is a subgroup of interstitial lung disease. Those most commonly associated with this subgroup of ILDs are rheumatoid arthritis, systemic sclerosis, dermatomyositis or polymyositis, lupus,,and Sjögren’s syndrome. Autoimmune diseases commonly associated with lung disease can also be referred to as connective tissue disease. Pulmonologist Dr. Daniel Dilling, of Loyola University Medical Center, a PFF Care Center site, notes that management of autoimmune ILD should be coordinated between the rheumatologist and pulmonologist.
