The Ibanez S470 is a classic S Series guitar going all the way back to 1992 (just 1 year before I barely graduated high school...lol!). Oh, and a big thank you to Drew for letting me borrow this to make this video for you! He's the host of the podcast The Drinking with Drew Show: @DrinkingWithDrewShow ***Drew also played guitar at my last metal show - we've got some cool stuff coming up, BTW! There's some neat history behind this guitar: The S470 (1992–1999, Japan), later also known as the S370 in Japan, made in Japan and produced from 1992 through 1999 (in the US only available from 1992 through 1994). The S470 (1995–2001, Korea), made in Korea and produced from 1995 through 2001 for the US market. The S470 (2003–2009) made in Korea (2003–2008) and Indonesia (2008–2009), available worldwide; ZR tremolo. Source: Fandom Ibanez Wiki: https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/S470_(...) This specific Ibanez S470 was part of the 1995-2001 version, made in Korea. The 3 things that indicate this are: LO TRS Trem II bridge Dot inlays (the later version has S inlays) AH1, AH2, and AS1 Axis pickups It also has a mahogany body, maple Wizard neck, and rosewood fingerboard. In this video, I also compare it to my Ibanez RG1570 Prestige. The main reason I wanted to showcase the Ibanez S470 is because I believe it's a great mid-grade guitar for rock and metal players. You can also find great deals on this model and similar models, used. Guitar prices in 2025 are outrageous so it's not a bad idea to look for older pre-owned models like this. Not to mention you may get more quality for your money. I hope you enjoyed this video. Give it a thumbs up and make sure you subscribe for more.
