The second record for this solo act from Rio Grande. "Kéikruk" marks a triumphant return and a significant step forward for Selk'nam, continuing to explore and expand upon the aesthetics established in the debut release. This record is a formidable blend of atmospheric black metal, enriched with harsh elements and drenched in layers of synthesisers. Selk'nam immerses the listeners once again in a dark, sonic journey. The two starting tracks are a perfect showcase of the blend of harsh and atmospheric black metal, with sweeping, expansive guitar riffs and relentless percussion that form the backbone of the music. The synths add a layer of eerie, almost otherworldly texture, enhancing the overall atmosphere. What sets this EP apart from the debut is its ability to weave in elements of folk and ritual ambience, particularly noticeable on the final track.
