People Fleeing Idlib, Syria, Lack Healthcare in Overcrowded Camps

Since December 1, 2019, almost 1 million people have been uprooted by bombing and shelling in Idlib, Syria. "Airstrikes don’t discriminate," says Hussein Al Wardah, "even here we feel we could come under attack." Hussein is the camp manager in Deir Hassan, where more than 100,000 people are living in overcrowded conditions without proper shelter or basic services. Poor sanitation at the camp has led to the spread of scabies and infectious diseases, while elderly residents with chronic diseases have no way of getting their medications. Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is providing people with essential relief items and preparing to scale up medical assistance and aid distribution to thousands of people displaced in northwestern Syria.
